About the foundation

Kolby's Story

The I Am Kolby Foundation is a nonprofit founded in memory of Kolby Aipa, dedicated to mentorship, service, and outdoor experiences for youth, rooted in faith and aloha spirit.

Who Kolby was

A life of humility, joy, and aloha.

Kolby Aipa carried his surfboard to the water the way he carried himself through life: humbly, joyfully, and always ready for what came next. He believed in showing up for the people around him, in doing good deeds without being asked, and in finding God in the ordinary beauty of the ocean, the mountains, and the people he loved.

The I Am Kolby Foundation exists to carry that spirit forward. We unite youth and communities through mentorship, service, and outdoor experiences that cultivate compassion, healing, and joy in action—the same values Kolby lived every day.
